Meeting Room hire - Frequently Asked Questions

When can meeting rooms be booked?

Meeting rooms can be booked within our normal building opening hours:

CAN Mezzanine, Borough is open Monday – Friday, 7am – 9pm and Saturday, 9am – 5pm.

CAN Mezzanine Old Street is open Monday – Friday, 7am – 9pm and Saturday, 9am – 5pm.

CAN Mezzanine, Hounslow is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am - 6pm and Tuesday and Thursday 9am - 8pm.

Room bookings can be made for any time within these hours. For Sunday options please contact us directly.

Room availability can be provided outside of these hours at our discretion but will incur additional charges. Arrangements need to be made at least 72 hours in advance for out-of-hours access. Please contact us if youwould like to discuss any options.


How much is it to hire meeting rooms?

Meeting rooms can be booked by the hour and prices vary depending on building location. Prices are stated as you proceed through the Meeting Room Booking System. The total price of your booking will be stated before you are asked to proceed to payment. 

Our Conference rooms can be booked by the full-day or half-day only and are exceptionally popular, so availability is a lot more limited.

Payment must be made in advance of the date of use to secure the booking and a receipt for payment will be issued electronically by email. The e-commerce site will take payment from credit or debit card. If you do not have the availability to make a payment online, please contact us to make alternative arrangements.

We only make our external meeting room hire available to charitable organisations and social enterprises.


What is the maximum number of people the meeting rooms hold?

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the appropriate size of room is selected and the specified room capacity is not exceeded.

Our booking system will make the best sized room available to you.


How are the meeting rooms set up?

All our meeting rooms are set up as standard Boardroom layout. Tables can be ‘collapsed’ and moved, although the space is limited.

Please note that tables and chairs cannot be left out in the corridor for Health and Safety reasons. 

The rooms should be left as you found them.


Can I see the space before &/or after I book?

We highly recommend that you view the space before booking, although you are welcome to visit at any time after booking.

Technical Requirements


Do you have laptop and projectors available for hire?

We have a limited number of laptops and projectors to hire - please include these when you make your booking. 

Costs are shown online and will be added to your final cost on the transaction platform. All equipment is subject to availability.

Please collect and return any equipment at Reception. Please be aware, we do not provide any IT support for setting up or trouble-shooting equipement.


Are there DVD playing facilities in the room?

Unfortunately we do not currently have DVD playing facilities to provide but, you are welcome to bring your own equipment, should you wish.

(Please note: CAN Mezzanine will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage)


Do the rooms have Wi-Fi?

All meeting rooms have password protected Wi-Fi. This is free to use with your meeting room booking – please ask if you would like to access the Wi-Fi and we can set you up with the password.T

The internet can also be accessed by a floor port in each room. Please ask if you need assistance.


Can we make telephone calls?

It is not possible to make outgoing phone calls from the meeting rooms. However, you can receive incoming calls. Please notify us in advance if you wish to receive calls, so that we can provide you with the relevant telephone number.


What other equipment is provided, or can be hired?

Room hire is just for the basic room, without any additional equipment.

Various items are available to hire with your Meeting Room booking - please review and add these at the time of making your booking online.

If you need help in sourcing further equipment to hire, please do let us know and we will help where we can.

Photocopying, faxing, scanning, etc. can be provided on a small scale, although charges will apply. Please ask if you need assistance.




Is parking available at this venue?

Parking is not available at CAN Mezzanine. (Please contact us for disabled drivers).




Does CAN provide catering?

CAN does not provide any catering. Our preferred supplier is Berkeley Catering if you wish to make your own arrangements - please inform Reception if you are expecting a catering delivery for your meeting.

Please note there are no facilities to prepare food on site.


Is there tea and coffee available?

Tea and coffee making facilities are available on-site. Catering thermos flasks and water jugs are available for you to take into your meeting.

Hot water is provided in zip boilers in each kitchen – please note these dispense instant boiling water.

Cold, filtered water is provided at machines on each floor – please use water from these machines, rather than from the kitchen sinks.

You are responsible for both the set-up and clear down of your meeting room, refreshments and catering. (Please note that if rooms are not found in an acceptable state after use, you may be liable to incur additional cleaning/damage charges).


Is there someone available to help set up with refreshments/catering?

No. Hire is just for the basic room usage and you are responsible for both the set-up and clear down of your meeting room. (Please note that if rooms are not found in an acceptable state after use, you may be liable to incur additional cleaning/damage charges).



You must make sure that you, member/s of your party, and anyone visiting you at CAN Mezzanine behave in such a way that they do not cause a nuisance or unreasonable disruption to CAN Mezzanine and its customers.

The fire alarm is tested every Tuesday at 11am for approximately 1 minute. If you hear the alarm at any other time your party must evacuate the building immediately through the nearest exit. Please make yourselves aware of the exits and meeting points once you arrive in the building.
