Things to do on your lunch break in London

While we are of course eager to see you back in the office, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So, why not get out and about on your lunch hour and see what our wonderful city has to offer. Here is a selection of some of our favourite things to do during a lunch break in London.

Grab lunch

Perhaps a no-brainer on ones 'lunch break', but London has so many incredible eateries to choose from! From the spicy and fragrant to the hearty and familiar, there is an establishment to suit every taste and mood. Just some of the many great places, just a stone’s throw away, include:

Caravan City – A contemporary, hipster-esque restaurant serving an inviting selection of food, freshly ground coffee, and cocktails (though we obviously do not advocate drinking on the job!) Also boasting outdoor dining, Caravan City is now welcoming back their diners, and as it is just a 5-minute walk from our office space at Queen Street Place, it’s an ideal spot for a working lunch with colleagues, or even a business meeting.

Atis – For a grab-and-go lunch like no other, why not visit Atis, a revolutionary dining experience with an ethos centred on good health and wellbeing. Say so long to subway sandwiches, and treat yourself to a bowlful of deliciousness, just a hop, skip, and jump away from our Old Street building.

Lobos – If you’re at our Borough venue, then the tantalising Tapas from Lobos is definitely worth a try. With a reputation for quality meats and exceptional ingredients, there is sure to be something to delight your taste buds!

Alternatively, if dining out is not for you, grab your packed lunch and try some of our other suggestions.

Squeeze in a quick pamper

If you have an hour to kill, why not treat yourself to a beauty treatment. There are many local establishments offering an array of services. You can:

  •   Top up your tan
  •   Fit in a facial
  •   Book a manicure
  •   Grab a massage
  •   Visit the barbers

Get a sweat on

An hour is enough time to get a sweat on and there are numerous fitness establishments within close proximity to a number of our . A PureGym sits just around the corner from our Borough offices, and there is a Golds Gym nearby in Hounslow. Alternatively, if you’re feeling strong and brave, why not take on a martial arts class at the London Fight Factory near Old Street!

Go for a walk

Despite our urban setting, we are blessed with many beautiful parks and scenic spots where you can enjoy a stroll in the sunshine. Soak up the sun with a picnic in the Tabard Gardens, or meander along the river Thames admiring the incredible sights, smells and sounds that the city of London has to offer. Perhaps grabbing some freshly cooked street food on route.

Soak up some culture

Finally, why not soak up some culture and history in one of the many museums and attractions we have locally. From the tourist favourites such as the Tower of London, to the quirky and unusual Old Operating Theatre Museum, there is something to pique interests and inspire. Although many venues are currently closed, these numerous hotspots also boast some incredible architecture! While we patiently await their reopening, we can still enjoy scouting out where we would like to spend our lunch breaks in the near future. With all that London has to offer, we don’t expect you to sit around the office during your downtime. So, what are you waiting for?
