Sector demand for affordable, flexible office space sees CAN Mezzanine secure fifth building in charity portfolio
Opening in March 2015, with viewings available throughout February, CAN Mezzanine have secured their next central London social office space in Borough, SE1.
The new building, which is at the start of Great Dover Street, opposite Borough tube station and just 10 minutes from London Bridge, will house up to 500 individuals working in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
It will incorporate meeting and conference facilities and will be of the usual high standards of CAN Mezzanine, where organisations are clustered together for cost efficiencies, fostering peer to peer learning, collaborative efficiencies / joint contracting and bids.
CAN Mezzanine, Borough will be the fifth building in CAN Mezzanine’s growing portfolio, adding to current locations in Southwark, Old Street, Hounslow and Bristol. This community of interest comprises over 820 individuals in 130 social organisations from small one desk organisations, through to IC Tomorrow, WWF and Charity Bank’s London premises.
Regarding the building acquisition, Andrew Croft, Chief Executive, said,
“The demand for our brand of flexible charity office space, tells us there is a need in the sector for security of tenure without penalty, so that organisations can focus on their mission delivery without having to deal with the obstacles of financing and managing their office space.
In particular, I am delighted that a building in such a central location, in the current incredibly hot property market will be able to offer space at rates comparable to our existing Southwark and Old Street facilities which are oversubscribed.”
