The Chief Executive of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Robert Music, has been shortlisted in the Charity Chief Executive category of the Third Sector Awards.
Based on the first floor of CAN Mezzanine, Old Street, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to women affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities. The charity provides support for those affected, campaigns for best treatment and care, and raises awareness of the disease and how it can be prevented. In 2015 the charity was awarded a Third Sector Award for their cervical cancer prevention campaign #SmearForSmear.
The Third Sector Awards is an annual event hosted by Third Sector to recognise the outstanding work carried out by charities and voluntary sector organisations and the companies that support them. This year the ceremony will be a black-tie event at the Lancaster London hotel on Wednesday 14th September.
Robert Music, Chief Executive, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust said: "I’m delighted to be nominated as Chief Executive of the Year in the Third Sector Awards. I had no idea my colleagues put me forward for the award so it came as a complete surprise. When I joined Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust eight years ago I was the only employee and since then we have grown to a team of 15. We may still be small but our impact is growing year on year and a lot of this is down to the team; I couldn’t be prouder to work with such a passionate and talented group of people. It is a privilege to be working towards a future free from cervical cancer at such an incredible charity and I am thrilled to have been put forward for this award."
